LW 6 is a malate dehydrogenase-2 (MDH2) inhibitor (IC50 = 6.3 M). Also inhibits HIF-1 . Prevents accumulation of HIF-1 in Hep3B cells under hypoxic conditions (IC50 = 2.6 M) with resulting decrease in expression of HIF-1 target genes VEGF and EPO . Inhibits proliferation of activated human T cells ex vivo .
