Key information : Flutax 2 is a green-fluorescent taxol derivative; for microtubules labeling in live cells. . Used for : imaging microtubules in live cells, isolated cytoskeletons and microtubule suspensions. . Application : fluorescence microscopy. . Properties and Photophysical Data : The fluorescent label on Flutax 2 is attached by derivatization of the 7- -hydroxy group of native paclitaxel which permits selective binding of the probe to microtubules. Flutax 2 binds microtubules with high affinity (Ka ~ 107M-1). Flutax 2 binds to , tubulin dimers and stabilizes them. Flutax 2 is soluble and pH insensitive and is more photostable than Flutax 1 (Cat. No. 2226). Excitation and emission maxima ( ) are 496 nm and 526 nm, respectively.
