Key information: BDY FL, SE is a fluorescent green BDY (BODIPY or boron-dipyrromethene) dye supplied with an NHS ester reactive group for the labeling of primary amines. The hydrophobic nature of BDY FL makes it ideal for labeling lipids and cell membranes. . Application: BDY FL, SE exhibits a narrow emission bandwidth and has a relatively long excited-state lifetime, making it ideal for fluorescence polarization assays and two-photon excitation (TPE) microscopy. . Properties and Photophysical Data: Displays high fluorescence quantum yield and high extinction coefficient and is relatively insensitive to pH change. This dye contains a C3 alkyl spacer between the fluorophore and the NHS ester group, reducing the potential for interactions between fluorophore and conjugated biomolecule. Exhibits similar excitation and emission spectra to dye FITC . Excitation and emission maxima ( ) are 502 nM and 510 nM, respectively; quantum yield = 0.97; extinction coefficient = 80,000 M-1cm-1 (measured in TFE plus 0.1% TFA); A280 = 0.027. .
