Product Description :
Sec16A is a protein encoded by the SEC16A gene which is approximately 233,5 kDa. Sec16A is localised to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. It is involved in transport to the Golgi and subsequent modification and metabolism of proteins. It defines endoplasmic reticulum exit sites and is required for secretory cargo traffic from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi apparatus. It also mediates COPII vesicle formation at the transitional ER. Sec16A is ubiquitously expressed with higher expression in the pancreas. Mutations in the SEC16A gene may result in Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. STJ95593 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of Sec16A protein.
