IP6K2 is a protein encoded by the IP6K2 gene which is approximately 49,2 kDa. IP6K2 is localised to the nucleus and is involved in inositol phosphate metabolism and cytokine signalling in immune system. This protein falls under the inositol phosphokinase family. It is likely responsible for the conversion of inositol hexakisphosphate to diphosphoinositol pentakisphosphate. It may also convert 1,3,4,5,6-pentakisphosphate to PP-InsP4 and affect the growth suppressive and apoptotic activities of interferon-beta in some ovarian cancers. IP6K2 is expressed in the nervous system, lung, skin, eye and intestine. STJ93747 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of IP6K2 protein.
