Product Description :

Egr-2 is a protein encoded by the EGR2 gene which is approximately 50,3 kDa. Egr-2 is localised to the nucleus and is involved in toll-like receptor signalling pathway, HTLV-I infection, viral carcinogenesis and developmental biology. It is a sequence-specific DNA-binding transcription factor, it binds to two specific DNA sites located in the promoter region of HOXA4. It is also an E3 SUMO-protein ligase, helping SUMO1 conjugate to its coregulators NAB1 and NAB2, whose sumoylation down-regulates EGR2 own transcriptional activity. Egr-2 is expressed in the cells of the nervous system. Mutations in the EGR2 gene may result in congenital hypomyelinatingand Charcot-Marie-tooth disease. STJ92863 was purified from goat serum by ammonium sulphate precipitation followed by antigen affinity chromatography using the immunizing peptide. This antibody binds to endogenous Egr-2.
