Immunogen :
Anti-Beta Catenin pS33/pS37 Antibody was produced by repeated immunizations with synthetic phospho-peptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding Ser33/37.
Packing Type :
Dry Ice
Physical State :
Liquid
Purity and Specificity :
Anti-Beta Catenin pS33/pS37 Antibody is directed against beta human Catenin protein phosphorylated ar S33/pS37. The antibody was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using phospho peptide coupled to agarose beads followed by solid phase adsorption(s) against non-phospho peptide and non-specific peptide to remove any unwanted reactivities. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum. This antibody is specific for phosphorylated beta Catenin. Minimal reactivity occurs against non-phosphorylated beta Catenin. Reactivity against beta Catenin occurs from human sources. However, reactivity is also expected against mouse, rat and Xenopus based on 100% sequence homology. Cross reactivity from other sources has not been determined.

Target Species :
Human
Background :
Beta Catenin antibody recognizes β-catenin which is a central component of the cadherin cell adhesion complex and plays an essential role in neural development in the Wingless/Wnt signaling pathway. The role of β-catenin in these processes is thought regulated by the sequential phosphorylation of Ser29 Ser33, Ser37 and Thr41 by glycogen synthase kinase 3β (GSK3β). This hyperphosphorylation promotes the ubiquitylation and targeted destruction of β-catenin. Mutations in components of this phosphorylation regulated process that prevent β-catenin hyperphosphorylation by GSK3β are trongly associated with cancers. Anti-Beta Catenin antibody is ideal for investigators involved in Cell Signaling, Neuroscience, Signal Transduction research.
