Immunogen :
Anti-Phospho-Thr52 ATF2 Antibody was produced in rabbits by repeated immunizations with a synthetic phospho-peptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding phosphorylated Thr52 of human ATF2 conjugated to KLH.
Packing Type :
Wet Ice
Physical State :
Liquid (sterile filtered)
Purity and Specificity :
Anti-ATF2 pT52 Antibody is directed against ATF2 protein phosphorylated at T52. The antibody was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using phospho peptide coupled to agarose beads followed by solid phase adsorption(s) against non-phospho peptide and non-specific peptide to remove any unwanted reactivities. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum. This antibody is specific for phosphorylated ATF2. Minimal reactivity occurs against non-phosphorylated ATF2. Reactivity against ATF2 occurs from human sources. Cross reactivity is unknown from other species.
Species Reactivity :
human
Stabilizer :
0.1 mg/ml Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) - IgG and Protease free, 50% (v/v) Glycerol
Storage :
Store vial at -20° C prior to opening in undiluted aliquots. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Synonyms :
Cyclic AMP-dependent transcription factor ATF-2, cAMP-dependent transcription factor ATF-2, Activating transcription factor 2, Cyclic AMP-responsive element-binding protein 2, CREB-2, cAMP-responsive element-binding protein 2, HB16, Histone acetyltransferase ATF2, cAMP response element-binding protein CRE-BP1
Target Species :
Human
Background :
The transcription factor ATF2 is a member of the ATF/CREB family of leucine zipper proteins. In response to stress stimuli, it activates a variety of gene targets that are involved in oncogenesis, and has been correlated with maintenance of a cancer cell phenotype. Inhibiting ATF2 impedes melanoma development and elicits tumor suppressor function. To act as a tumor suppressor, ATF2 must localize at the mitochondria, and phosphorylation at Thr52 by PKCε regulates this translocation. ATF2 pT52 Antibody is ideal for researchers interested in cancer research.
