product information
Catalog Number :
600-401-262
Name :
Anti-PhosphoTyrosine (pY) (RABBIT) Antibody - 600-401-262
Display Name :
Phosphotyrosine Antibody
Application Note :
Anti-PhosphoTyrosine (pY) Antibody is suitable for use in ELISA, western blotting and immunoprecipitation assays.  Anti-PhosphoTyrosine (pY) Antibody reacts specifically with phosphotyrosine and shows minimal reactivity by ELISA and western blotting with proteins containing phosphothreonine or phosphoserine residues. Anti-PhosphoTyrosine (pY) Antibody reacts with free phosphotyrosine, phosphotyrosine conjugated to carriers such as thyroglobulin or BSA, and detects the presence of phosphotyrosine in proteins of both unstimulated and stimulated cell lysates.  Although not tested, Anti-PhosphoTyrosine (pY) Antibody is likely functional in RIA, flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry.

Immunogen :
This Anti-PhosphoTyrosine antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with phosphotyrosine conjugated KLH.
Packing Type :
Dry Ice
Physical State :
Liquid (sterile filtered)
Preservative :
0.01% (w/v) Sodium Azide
Purity and Specificity :
Anti-PhosphoTyrosine (pY) Antibody was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using phosphorylated tyrosine peptide coupled to agarose.   Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit IgG.  Reactivity is specific for phosphotyrosine and minimal cross reactivity is observed against phosphothreonine or phosphoserine.
Species Reactivity :
phosphotyrosine
Storage :
Store PhosphoTyrosine antibody at -20° C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4° C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Synonyms :
PhosphoTyrosine (pY)reactive antibody, PhosphoTyrosine (pY) polyclonal antibody, PhosphoTyrosine antibody produced in rabbit
Background :
Phosphotyrosine is the tyrosine amino acid that has been phosphorylated and is considered one of the integral steps in signal transduction and general enzyme activity. Tyrosine is phosphorylated through protein kinases and through phosphorylation, phosphotyrosine can bind other proteins causing binding of multi-protein complexes that connect the upstream kinases and downstream effectors. Phosphotyrosine-binding domains, or PTB's, are pervasive throughout the study of signal transduction and disease. Anti-Phosphotyrosine (pY) Antibody is ideal for investigators in Cancer, Signal Transduction, and Cell Signaling research.
