Immunogen :
Anti-EEF1A2 antibody was prepared from whole goat serum produced by repeated immunizations with a synthetic peptide corresponding to a near C-terminal portion of human EEF1A2 conjugated to Keyhole Limpet Hemocyanin (KLH).
Packing Type :
Dry Ice
Physical State :
Liquid (sterile filtered)
Preservative :
0.01% (w/v) Sodium Azide
Purity and Specificity :
This affinity purified antibody is directed against human EEF1A2.  This product was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity purification.  A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross-reactivity with the antigen based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence to human, mouse, rat, bovine, and rabbit.
Species Reactivity :
human, mouse
Storage :
Store vial at -20° C or below prior to opening. This vial contains a relatively low volume of reagent (25 µL). To minimize loss of volume dilute 1:10 by adding 225 µL of the buffer stated above directly to the vial. Recap, mix thoroughly and briefly centrifuge to collect the volume at the bottom of the vial. Use this intermediate dilution when calculating final dilutions as recommended below. Store the vial at -20°C or below after dilution. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing.

Target Species :
Human
Background :
EEF1A2 (Eukaryotic Translation Elongation Factor 1 Alpha 2) protein promotes the GTP-dependent binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to the A-site of ribosomes during protein biosynthesis. EEF1A2 encodes an isoform of the alpha subunit of the elongation factor-1 complex, which is responsible for the enzymatic delivery of aminoacyl tRNAs to the ribosome. This isoform (alpha 2) is expressed in brain, heart and skeletal muscle, and the other isoform (alpha 1) is expressed in brain, placenta, lung, liver, kidney, and pancreas. EEF1A2 may be associated with the development of ovarian cancer, along with Epileptic Encephalopathy, Early Infantile, 33 and Mental Retardation, Autosomal Dominant 38. Anti-EEF1A2 Antibody is useful for researchers interested in cancer research, translation factors, GTP binding, and GTPase activities.
