Measured by its ability to inhibit apoptosis on the J774A.1 mouse reticulum cell sarcoma macrophage cells. Miyazaki, T. et al . (1999) J. Exp. Med. 189 :413. The presence of rhCD5L inhibited rhFas Ligand/His-induced apoptosis by 70-90% in the presence of 10 ╡g/mL of a cross-linking antibody, Mouse Anti-polyHistidine Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB050 ). The ED50 for this effect is 1-4 ╡g/mL.
