FUNCTION :

Insulin decreases blood glucose concentration. It increases cell permeability to monosaccharides, amino acids and fatty acids. It accelerates glycolysis, the pentose phosphate cycle, and glycogen synthesis in liver.

SPECIFICITY :

Both antibodies recognize human insulin and cross-react with human proinsulin, bovine insulin, and porcine insulin. 20801 reacts with C-terminal pentapeptide of insulin beta-chain. 20803 reacts with a different antigenic determinant.
