Background :
Jumonji is a nuclear protein that participates in the negative regulation of cell growth. It is required for neural tube formation and is essential for normal heart development and function. As well, it is a part of a group of proteins characterized by a novel structural motif, the JmjC domain, which is implicated in chromatin regulation through histone demethylation.

Uses :
This JARID2 antibody is useful for Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry-paraffin embedded sections. Immunoprecipitation was reported in scientific literature. By Western blot a band is seen at ~140 kDa. Another band is seen >200 kDa and a faint band may be seen ~80 kDa. This antibody has also been reported to work in Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP), see PMID: 22396653. In ICC/IF, nuclear staining was observed in HeLa cells. In IHC-P, staining was observed in the nucleus of mouse brain. Prior to immunostaining paraffin tissues, antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0) is recommended.
