other info1 :
Immunogen: A synthesized peptide derived from human Arrestin-C, corresponding to a region within C-terminal amino acids.
products description :
Function: May play a role in an as yet undefined retina-specific signal transduction. Could binds to photoactivated-phosphorylated red/green opsins. Subunit Structure: Interacts with CXCR4; the interaction is dependent on the C-terminal phosphorylation of CXCR4 and modulates the calcium ion mobilization activity of CXCR4. Similarity: Belongs to the arrestin family.
ncbi acc num :
NP_004303.2
ncbi gb acc num :
NM_004312.2
ncbi pathways :
CXCR4-mediated Signaling Events Pathway (137910); Thromboxane A2 Receptor Signaling Pathway (138060); Visual Signal Transduction: Cones Pathway (137926)
ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is a non-visual arrestin which binds to agonist-activated, phosphorylated G protein-coupled receptors. This binding uncouples the receptor from the heterotrimeric G protein, resulting in termination of the G protein-coupled receptor signaling. The encoded protein also is a part of the centrosome, interacting with gamma-tubulin to help regulate proper centrosome function. [provided by RefSeq, May 2016]
