other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Sandwich (Quantitative). Detection Range: 3.12 mIU/ml-200 mIU/ml. Sensitivity: 0.78 mIU/ml.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for AMY2A has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any AMY2A present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for AMY2A is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of AMY2A bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

ncbi summary :
Amylases are secreted proteins that hydrolyze 1,4-alpha-glucoside bonds in oligosaccharides and polysaccharides, and thus catalyze the first step in digestion of dietary starch and glycogen. The human genome has a cluster of several amylase genes that are expressed at high levels in either salivary gland or pancreas. This gene encodes an amylase isoenzyme produced by the pancreas. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
