other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Quantitative Sandwich. Sensitivity: Typically less than 3.1 pg/ml.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for IL-29 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any IL-29 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for IL-29 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL-29 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a cytokine distantly related to type I interferons and the IL-10 family. This gene, interleukin 28A (IL28A), and interleukin 28B (IL28B) are three closely related cytokine genes that form a cytokine gene cluster on a chromosomal region mapped to 19q13. Expression of the cytokines encoded by the three genes can be induced by viral infection. All three cytokines have been shown to interact with a heterodimeric class II cytokine receptor that consists of interleukin 10 receptor, beta (IL10RB) and interleukin 28 receptor, alpha (IL28RA). uniprot summary :
IL29: Cytokine with immunomodulatory activity. May play a role in antiviral immunity. Up-regulates MHC class I antigen expression. Ligand for the heterodimeric class II cytokine receptor composed of IL10RB and IL28RA. The ligand/receptor complex seems to signal through the Jak-STAT pathway. Belongs to the IL-28/IL-29 family. Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Cell cycle regulation; Secreted; Cytokine. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.13. Cellular Component: extracellular space; extracellular region; interleukin-28 receptor complex. Molecular Function: cytokine activity; interleukin-28 receptor binding; receptor binding. Biological Process: positive regulation of immune response; positive regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; positive regulation of JAK-STAT cascade; JAK-STAT cascade; negative regulation of T cell differentiation; negative regulation of cell proliferation; positive regulation of interferon-gamma production; negative regulation of interleukin-13 production; negative regulation of T-helper 2 type immune response; positive regulation of tyrosine phosphorylation of STAT protein; negative regulation of interleukin-5 production; positive regulation of MHC class I biosynthetic process; negative regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; negative regulation of memory T cell differentiation; defense response to virus
