specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human NPM1. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human NPM1 and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, Cell lysates. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 23.5 pg/ml -1500 pg/ml. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of human NPM1 is typically less than 5.8 pg/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for NPM1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any NPM1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for NPM1 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of NPM1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a phosphoprotein which moves between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. The gene product is thought to be involved in several processes including regulation of the ARF/p53 pathway. A number of genes are fusion partners have been characterized, in particular the anaplastic lymphoma kinase gene on chromosome 2. Mutations in this gene are associated with acute myeloid leukemia. More than a dozen pseudogenes of this gene have been identified. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009]
uniprot summary :
NPM1: a nucleolar protein associated with nucleolar ribonucleoprotein structures and that binds single-stranded nucleic acids. Is a major component of template activating factor (TAF)-III. It plays a role in controlling centrosome duplication, and may function in the assembly and/or transport of the ribosome. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described. Protein type: Oncoprotein; Nucleolus; RNA-binding; Translation. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q35.1. Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; centrosome; focal adhesion; membrane; cytoplasm; nucleolus; spindle pole centrosome; ribonucleoprotein complex; cytosol; nucleus. Molecular Function: NF-kappaB binding; protein binding; protein homodimerization activity; protein kinase inhibitor activity; histone binding; protein heterodimerization activity; RNA binding; Tat protein binding; transcription coactivator activity; unfolded protein binding; protein kinase binding; ribosomal small subunit binding; ribosomal large subunit binding. Biological Process: regulation of centriole replication; viral reproduction; positive regulation of translation; centrosome cycle; cell aging; nucleocytoplasmic transport; DNA repair; signal transduction; protein oligomerization; activation of NF-kappaB transcription factor; nucleosome assembly; intracellular protein transport; negative regulation of cell proliferation; regulation of endodeoxyribonuclease activity; protein localization; DNA replication-independent nucleosome assembly at centromere; ribosome assembly; response to stress; negative regulation of apoptosis
