other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV% is less than 8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV% is less than 10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess. Detection Wavelength: 450 nm. Sample Volume: 50-100ul
products description :
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for CENPK has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any CENPK present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for CENPK is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CENPK bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

ncbi summary :
CENPK is a subunit of a CENPH (MIM 605607)-CENPI (MIM 300065)-associated centromeric complex that targets CENPA (MIM 117139) to centromeres and is required for proper kinetochore function and mitotic progression (Okada et al., 2006 [PubMed 16622420]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
uniprot summary :
CENPK: Component of the CENPA-CAD (nucleosome distal) complex, a complex recruited to centromeres which is involved in assembly of kinetochore proteins, mitotic progression and chromosome segregation. May be involved in incorporation of newly synthesized CENPA into centromeres via its interaction with the CENPA-NAC complex. Acts in coordination with CASC5/KNL1 to recruit the NDC80 complex to the outer kinetochore. Chromosomal aberrations involving CENPK are a cause of acute leukemias. Translocation t(5;11)(q12;q23) with MLL. Belongs to the CENPK family. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q12.3. Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytosol. Biological Process: nucleosome assembly; DNA replication-independent nucleosome assembly at centromere; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; mitotic cell cycle
