specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human FAP. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human FAP and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 0.78 ng/ml -50 ng/ml. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of human FAP is typically less than 0.195 ng/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for FAP has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any FAP present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for FAP is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of FAP bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

ncbi summary :
This gene belongs to the serine protease family. The encoded protein is an inducible cell-surface bound glycoprotein specifically expressed in tumor-associated fibroblasts and pericytes of epithelial tumors and has protease and gelatinase activity. The protein plays a role in remodeling of the extracellular matrix (ECM) and may affect tumorigenesis and tissue repair. Alternately spliced transcript variants of this gene are described in the literature (PMID 9139873), but the full-length sequence of these variants is not available. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2013]
uniprot summary :
FAP: In association with DPP4 is involved in the pericellular proteolysis of the extracellular matrix (ECM), the migration and invasion of endothelial cells into the ECM. May have a role in tissue remodeling during development and wound healing, and may contribute to invasiveness in malignant cancers. Belongs to the peptidase S9B family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: EC 3.4.14.5; Membrane protein, integral; Protease; EC 3.4.21.26. Cellular Component: extracellular space; cell surface; cell projection; focal adhesion; membrane; apical part of cell; lamellipodium; plasma membrane; integral to membrane; extracellular region; cell junction. Molecular Function: integrin binding; peptidase activity; protein homodimerization activity; protease binding; hydrolase activity; dipeptidyl-peptidase activity; serine-type peptidase activity; serine-type endopeptidase activity; endopeptidase activity. Biological Process: proteolysis involved in cellular protein catabolic process; apoptosis; endothelial cell migration; angiogenesis; cell adhesion; proteolysis
