Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the Assay This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for CD33 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any CD33 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for CD33 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CD33 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

uniprot summary :
CD33: Putative adhesion molecule of myelomonocytic-derived cells that mediates sialic-acid dependent binding to cells. Preferentially binds to alpha-2,6-linked sialic acid. The sialic acid recognition site may be masked by cis interactions with sialic acids on the same cell surface. In the immune response, may act as an inhibitory receptor upon ligand induced tyrosine phosphorylation by recruiting cytoplasmic phosphatase(s) via their SH2 domain(s) that block signal transduction through dephosphorylation of signaling molecules. Induces apoptosis in acute myeloid leukemia (in vitro). Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. SIGLEC (sialic acid binding Ig-like lectin) family. Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Cell adhesion. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.3. Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane; external side of plasma membrane. Molecular Function: protein binding; receptor activity; carbohydrate binding. Biological Process: negative regulation of cell proliferation; cell-cell signaling; cell adhesion; signal transduction
