products description :
Background/Introduction: This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic or diagnostic applications! This kit is intended to be used for determination the level of BTG1 (hereafter termed "analyte") in undiluted original Human body fluids, tissue homogenates, secretions or feces samples. This kit is NOT suitable for assaying non-biological sources of substances.

ncbi summary :
This gene is a member of an anti-proliferative gene family that regulates cell growth and differentiation. Expression of this gene is highest in the G0/G1 phases of the cell cycle and downregulated when cells progressed through G1. The encoded protein interacts with several nuclear receptors, and functions as a coactivator of cell differentiation. This locus has been shown to be involved in a t(8;12)(q24;q22) chromosomal translocation in a case of B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]
uniprot summary :
BTG1: Anti-proliferative protein. A chromosomal aberration involving BTG1 may be a cause of a form of B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Translocation t(8;12)(q24;q22) with MYC. Belongs to the BTG family. Protein type: Oncoprotein; Cell cycle regulation. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q22. Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleus. Molecular Function: protein binding; enzyme binding; transcription cofactor activity; kinase binding. Biological Process: negative regulation of cell proliferation; cell migration; positive regulation of angiogenesis; positive regulation of endothelial cell differentiation; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; negative regulation of cell growth; positive regulation of myoblast differentiation
