other info2 :
Intended Uses: This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic or diagnostic applications! It is intended to be determinated NSMAF concentrations in Human serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Human NSMAF antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add NSMAF and NSMAF antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of NSMAF in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve. Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. [CV(%) = SD/mean ×100]

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a WD-repeat protein that binds the cytoplasmic sphingomyelinase activation domain of the 55kD tumor necrosis factor receptor. This protein is required for TNF-mediated activation of neutral sphingomyelinase and may play a role in regulating TNF-induced cellular responses such as inflammation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, Jan 2009]
uniprot summary :
NSMAF: Couples the p55 TNF-receptor (TNF-R55 / TNFR1) to neutral sphingomyelinase (N-SMASE). Specifically binds to the N- smase activation domain of TNF-R55. May regulate ceramide production by N-SMASE. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Adaptor/scaffold; Autophagy. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 8q12-q13. Cellular Component: extrinsic to membrane; cytoplasm; endomembrane system. Molecular Function: sphingomyelin phosphodiesterase activator activity; protein binding; receptor signaling protein activity; phospholipid binding. Biological Process: positive regulation of catalytic activity; positive regulation of apoptosis; ceramide metabolic process; endosome transport; signal transduction
