other info2 :
Intended Uses: This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic or diagnostic applications! It is intended to be determinated RGS3 concentrations in Human serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Human RGS3 antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add RGS3 and RGS3 antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of RGS3 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve. Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. [CV(%) = SD/mean ×100]

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a member of the regulator of G-protein signaling (RGS) family. This protein is a GTPase-activating protein that inhibits G-protein-mediated signal transduction. Alternative splicing and the use of alternative promoters results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. Long isoforms are largely cytosolic and plasma membrane-associated with a function in Wnt signaling and in the epithelial mesenchymal transition, while shorter N-terminally-truncated isoforms can be nuclear. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2013]
uniprot summary :
RGS3: Down-regulates signaling from heterotrimeric G-proteins by increasing the GTPase activity of the alpha subunits, thereby driving them into their inactive GDP-bound form. Down-regulates G- protein-mediated release of inositol phosphates and activation of MAP kinases. 6 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: GAPs, RGS; GAPs. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 9q32. Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; cytosol. Molecular Function: GTPase activator activity. Biological Process: regulation of G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; positive regulation of GTPase activity; inactivation of MAPK activity
