products description :
Background/Introduction: This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic or diagnostic applications! This kit is intended to be used for determination the level of MTTP (hereafter termed "analyte") in undiluted original Mouse body fluids, tissue homogenates, secretions or feces samples. This kit is NOT suitable for assaying non-biological sources of substances.

uniprot summary :
MTTP: Catalyzes the transport of triglyceride, cholesteryl ester, and phospholipid between phospholipid surfaces. Required for the secretion of plasma lipoproteins that contain apolipoprotein B. Defects in MTTP are the cause of abetalipoproteinemia (ABL). ABL is an autosomal recessive disorder of lipoprotein metabolism. Affected individuals produce virtually no circulating apolipoprotein B-containing lipoproteins (chylomicrons, VLDL, LDL, lipoprotein(A)). Malabsorption of the antioxidant vitamin E occurs, leading to spinocerebellar and retinal degeneration. Protein type: Endoplasmic reticulum. Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; rough endoplasmic reticulum; endoplasmic reticulum; brush border membrane; microvillus membrane; basolateral plasma membrane; receptor complex. Molecular Function: lipid transporter activity; protein binding; protein heterodimerization activity; apolipoprotein binding; lipid binding. Biological Process: steroid metabolic process; cholesterol metabolic process; cholesterol homeostasis; triacylglycerol metabolic process; transport; lipoprotein transport; protein amino acid lipidation; lipoprotein metabolic process; lipid metabolic process; lipid transport
