other info2 :
Intended Uses: This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic or diagnostic applications! It is intended to be determinated RGS11 concentrations in Human serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Human RGS11 antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add RGS11 and RGS11 antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of RGS11 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve. Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. [CV(%) = SD/mean ×100]

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the RGS (regulator of G protein signaling) family. Members of the RGS family act as GTPase-activating proteins on the alpha subunits of heterotrimeric, signal-transducing G proteins. This protein inhibits signal transduction by increasing the GTPase activity of G protein alpha subunits, thereby driving them into their inactive GDP-bound form. Alternative splicing occurs at this locus and four transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2013]
uniprot summary :
RGS11: Inhibits signal transduction by increasing the GTPase activity of G protein alpha subunits thereby driving them into their inactive GDP-bound form. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16p13.3. Cellular Component: protein complex; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; heterotrimeric G-protein complex. Molecular Function: signal transducer activity; G-protein beta-subunit binding; GTPase activator activity. Biological Process: G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; regulation of G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; positive regulation of GTPase activity
