products description :
Background/Introduction: This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic or diagnostic applications! This kit is intended to be used for determination the level of NAV1 (hereafter termed "analyte") in undiluted original Human body fluids, tissue homogenates, secretions or feces samples. This kit is NOT suitable for assaying non-biological sources of substances.

ncbi summary :
This gene belongs to the neuron navigator family and is expressed predominantly in the nervous system. The encoded protein contains coiled-coil domains and a conserved AAA domain characteristic for ATPases associated with a variety of cellular activities. This gene is similar to unc-53, a Caenorhabditis elegans gene involved in axon guidance. The exact function of this gene is not known, but it is thought to play a role in in neuronal development and regeneration. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009]
uniprot summary :
NAV1: May be involved in neuronal migration. Belongs to the Nav/unc-53 family. 7 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Cytoskeletal; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q32.3. Cellular Component: microtubule; cytoplasm. Biological Process: neuron migration; microtubule bundle formation
