products description :
Background/Introduction: This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic or diagnostic applications! This kit is intended to be used for determination the level of CEAg (hereafter termed "analyte") in undiluted original Canine body fluids, tissue homogenates, secretions or feces samples. This kit is NOT suitable for assaying non-biological sources of substances.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is a bZIP transcription factor which can bind as a homodimer to certain DNA regulatory regions. It can also form heterodimers with the related protein CEBP-delta. The encoded protein may be essential for terminal differentiation and functional maturation of committed granulocyte progenitor cells. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Specific Granule Deficiency, a rare congenital disorder. Multiple variants of this gene have been described, but the full-length nature of only one has been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
C/EBP-epsilon: C/EBP are DNA-binding proteins that recognize two different motifs: the CCAAT homology common to many promoters and the enhanced core homology common to many enhancers. Belongs to the bZIP family. C/EBP subfamily. Protein type: DNA-binding; Transcription factor; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q11.2. Cellular Component: nucleoplasm. Molecular Function: protein homodimerization activity; protein heterodimerization activity. Biological Process: macrophage differentiation; transcription, DNA-dependent; cytokine biosynthetic process; defense response to bacterium; defense response; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; phagocytosis. Disease: Specific Granule Deficiency
