specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human SEL1L. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human SEL1L and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 18.75 pg/ml -1200 pg/ml. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of human SEL1L is typically less than 4.7 pg/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for SEL1L has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any SEL1L present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for SEL1L is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of SEL1L bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is part of a protein complex required for the retrotranslocation or dislocation of misfolded proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum lumen to the cytosol, where they are degraded by the proteasome in a ubiquitin-dependent manner. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
uniprot summary :
SEL1L: May play a role in Notch signaling. May be involved in the endoplasmic reticulum quality control (ERQC) system also called ER-associated degradation (ERAD) involved in ubiquitin-dependent degradation of misfolded endoplasmic reticulum proteins. Belongs to the sel-1 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Membrane protein, integral. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q31. Cellular Component: endoplasmic reticulum membrane; integral to membrane. Molecular Function: protein binding. Biological Process: Notch signaling pathway; ER-associated protein catabolic process
