specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of mouse GAD1. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between mouse GAD1 and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 6.25 pg/ml -400 pg/ml. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of mouse GAD1 is typically less than 1.56 pg/ml.The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for GAD1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any GAD1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for GAD1 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of GAD1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is an enzyme that catalyzes the production of gamma-aminobutyric acid from L-glutamic acid. Alternative splicing of this gene results in two products, the predominant 67 kDa isoform and a smaller 25 kDa isoform. The smaller isoform is not thought to retain catalytic activity. uniprot summary :
GAD67: Catalyzes the production of GABA. Homodimer. Isoform 3 is expressed in pancreatic islets, testis, adrenal cortex, and perhaps other endocrine tissues, but not in brain. Belongs to the group II decarboxylase family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Other Amino Acids Metabolism - taurine and hypotaurine; Amino Acid Metabolism - alanine, aspartate and glutamate; Mitochondrial; EC 4.1.1.15; Carbohydrate Metabolism - butanoate; Other Amino Acids Metabolism - beta-alanine; Lyase. Cellular Component: mitochondrion; axon; cytoplasm; presynaptic active zone; synapse; cell cortex; intracellular; nerve terminal. Molecular Function: glutamate binding; glutamate decarboxylase activity; protein heterodimerization activity; lyase activity; carboxy-lyase activity; protein N-terminus binding; catalytic activity; pyridoxal phosphate binding. Biological Process: gamma-aminobutyric acid biosynthetic process; carboxylic acid metabolic process; social behavior; neurotransmitter biosynthetic process
