specificity :
This GARP antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 234-260 amino acids from the Central region of human GARP.
purity :
Purified Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (Pab)
form :
Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is prepared by Saturated Ammonium Sulfate (SAS) precipitation followed by dialysis against PBS.
storage stability :
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20 degree C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
tested application :
Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P)

other info1 :
Cellular Location: Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Cell surface. Tissue Location: Preferentially expressed in regulatory T-cells (T(regs)).
products description :
Background: GARP is a type I membrane protein which contains 20 leucine-rich repeats. Function: Key regulator of transforming growth factor beta (TGFB1, TGFB2 and TGFB3) that controls TGF-beta activation by maintaining it in a latent state during storage in extracellular space. Associates specifically via disulfide bonds with the Latency-associated peptide (LAP), which is the regulatory chain of TGF-beta, and regulates integrin-dependent activation of TGF-beta. Able to outcompete LTBP1 for binding to LAP regulatory chain of TGF-beta. Controls activation of TGF-beta-1 (TGFB1) on the surface of activated regulatory T-cells (Tregs). Required for epithelial fusion during palate development by regulating activation of TGF-beta-3 (TGFB3) (By similarity).
