Sample Volume: 50-100ul. Protein Biological Process 1: Angiogenesis. Protein Biological Process 3: Angiogenesis
products description :
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for EFNB2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any EFNB2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for EFNB2 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of EFNB2 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a member of the ephrin (EPH) family. The ephrins and EPH-related receptors comprise the largest subfamily of receptor protein-tyrosine kinases and have been implicated in mediating developmental events, especially in the nervous system and in erythropoiesis. Based on their structures and sequence relationships, ephrins are divided into the ephrin-A (EFNA) class, which are anchored to the membrane by a glycosylphosphatidylinositol linkage, and the ephrin-B (EFNB) class, which are transmembrane proteins. This gene encodes an EFNB class ephrin which binds to the EPHB4 and EPHA3 receptors. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
EFNB2: a type I membrane protein of the ephrin family. A ligand of Eph-related receptor tyrosine kinases EphA3 and EphB4. Ephrins and ephrin receptors mediate numerous developmental processes, particularly in the nervous system. Ephrin-B2 is implicated in mediating developmental events, especially in the nervous system and in erythropoiesis. May play a role in constraining the orientation of longitudinally projecting axons. Protein type: Ligand, receptor tyrosine kinase; Membrane protein, integral. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 13q33. Cellular Component: focal adhesion; integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane. Molecular Function: protein binding; ephrin receptor binding. Biological Process: axon guidance; anatomical structure morphogenesis; organ morphogenesis; regulation of chemotaxis; viral reproduction; cell-cell signaling; cell migration during sprouting angiogenesis; ephrin receptor signaling pathway; lymph vessel development; cell adhesion
