specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of mouse KISS1. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between mouse KISS1 and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 12.5 pg/ml-800 pg/ml. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of mouse KISS1 is typically less than 3.125 pg/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Priciple of the assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for KISS1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any KISS1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for KISS1 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of KISS1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

uniprot summary :
KiSS-1: Metastasis suppressor protein in malignant melanomas and in some breast cancers. May regulate events downstream of cell- matrix adhesion, perhaps involving cytoskeletal reorganization. Generates a C-terminally amidated peptide, metastin which functions as the endogenous ligand of the G-protein coupled receptor GPR54. Activation of the receptor inhibits cell proliferation and cell migration, key characteristics of tumor metastasis. Kp-10 is a decapeptide derived from the primary translation product, isolated in conditioned medium of first trimester trophoblast. Kp-10, but not other kisspeptins, increased intracellular Ca(2+) levels in isolated first trimester trophoblasts. Kp-10 is a paracrine/endocrine regulator in fine- tuning trophoblast invasion generated by the trophoblast itself. The receptor is also essential for normal gonadotropin-released hormone physiology and for puberty. The hypothalamic KiSS1/GPR54 system is a pivotal factor in central regulation of the gonadotropic axis at puberty and in adulthood. Belongs to the KISS1 family. Protein type: Cell adhesion; Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide. Cellular Component: extracellular space; neuron projection; cell soma; apical plasma membrane; cytoplasm; cytosol. Molecular Function: protein binding; G-protein-coupled receptor binding; kisspeptin receptor binding. Biological Process: positive regulation of growth hormone secretion; generation of ovulation cycle rhythm; negative regulation of cell proliferation; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; elevation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration during G-protein signaling, coupled to IP3 second messenger (phospholipase C activating); elevation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration; positive regulation of MAPKKK cascade; negative regulation of cell migration; positive regulation of synaptic transmission; positive regulation of luteinizing hormone secretion
