FHR1_HUMAN
specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human CFHR1. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human CFHR1 and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Competitive. Detection Range: 25 ng/ml -1600 ng/ml. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of human CFHR1 is typically less than 12.5 ng/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest human CFHR1 concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with CFHR1. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated antibody preparation specific for CFHR1. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with pre-coated CFHR1 and CFHR1 in samples. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of CFHR1 in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a secreted protein belonging to the complement factor H protein family. It binds to Pseudomonas aeruginosa elongation factor Tuf together with plasminogen, which is proteolytically activated. It is proposed that Tuf acts as a virulence factor by acquiring host proteins to the pathogen surface, controlling complement, and facilitating tissue invasion. Mutations in this gene are associated with an increased risk of atypical hemolytic-uremic syndrome. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]
