specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human APOF. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human APOF and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Competitive. Detection Range: 9.3 8 ng/ml -600ng/ml. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of human APOF is typically less than 2.34 ng/ml.The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with APOF. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated antibody preparation specific for APOF. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with pre-coated APOF and APOF in samples. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of APOF in the samples. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

ncbi summary :
The product of this gene is one of the minor apolipoproteins found in plasma. This protein forms complexes with lipoproteins and may be involved in transport and/or esterification of cholesterol. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
APOF: Minor apolipoprotein that associates with LDL. Inhibits cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) activity and appears to be an important regulator of cholesterol transport. Also associates to a lesser degree with VLDL, Apo-AI and Apo-AII. Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q13.3. Cellular Component: extracellular region. Molecular Function: lipid transporter activity; cholesterol binding; receptor binding. Biological Process: cholesterol metabolic process; triacylglycerol metabolic process; cholesterol efflux; lipid metabolic process; lipid transport
