Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 12.5 pg/ml -800 pg/ml. Sensitivity: 3.12 pg/ml.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the Assay This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for RORC has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any RORC present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for RORC is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of RORC bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is a DNA-binding transcription factor and is a member of the NR1 subfamily of nuclear hormone receptors. The specific functions of this protein are not known; however, studies of a similar gene in mice have shown that this gene may be essential for lymphoid organogenesis and may play an important regulatory role in thymopoiesis. In addition, studies in mice suggest that the protein encoded by this gene may inhibit the expression of Fas ligand and IL2. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
RORC: Possible nuclear receptor for hydroxycholesterols, the binding of which strongly promotes coactivators recruitment. Essential for thymopoiesis and the development of several secondary lymphoid tissues, including lymph nodes. Involved in lineage specification of uncommitted CD4(+) T-helper cells into Th17 cells. Regulate the expression of several components of the circadian clock. Belongs to the nuclear hormone receptor family. NR1 subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: DNA-binding; Transcription factor; Nuclear receptor. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q21. Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; nucleus. Molecular Function: protein binding; ligand-dependent nuclear receptor activity; DNA binding; zinc ion binding; sequence-specific DNA binding; oxysterol binding; steroid hormone receptor activity; transcription factor activity. Biological Process: Peyer s patch development; transcription initiation from RNA polymerase II promoter; intracellular receptor-mediated signaling pathway; T-helper cell differentiation; regulation of fat cell differentiation; positive regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; T cell differentiation in the thymus; positive regulation of circadian rhythm; regulation of gamma-delta T cell differentiation; lymph node development; protein amino acid phosphorylation; xenobiotic metabolic process; regulation of steroid metabolic process; gene expression; steroid hormone mediated signaling; circadian regulation of gene expression
