Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Competitive. Detection Range: 62.5 ng/ml-4000 ng/ml. Sensitivity: Typically less than 15.6 ng/ml
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with SERPINA1. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated antibody preparation specific for SERPINA1. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with pre-coated SERPINA1 and SERPINA1 in samples. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of SERPINA1 in the samples. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

uniprot summary :
SERPINA1: Inhibitor of serine proteases. Its primary target is elastase, but it also has a moderate affinity for plasmin and thrombin. Irreversibly inhibits trypsin, chymotrypsin and plasminogen activator. The aberrant form inhibits insulin-induced NO synthesis in platelets, decreases coagulation time and has proteolytic activity against insulin and plasmin. Defects in SERPINA1 are the cause of alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency (A1ATD). A disorder whose most common manifestation is emphysema, which becomes evident by the third to fourth decade. A less common manifestation of the deficiency is liver disease, which occurs in children and adults, and may result in cirrhosis and liver failure. Environmental factors, particularly cigarette smoking, greatly increase the risk of emphysema at an earlier age. Belongs to the serpin family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Inhibitor; Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide. Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; extracellular space; endoplasmic reticulum. Molecular Function: serine-type endopeptidase inhibitor activity; identical protein binding; protein binding; protease binding; endopeptidase inhibitor activity; glycoprotein binding. Biological Process: response to chromate; response to inorganic substance; response to triglyceride; response to cytokine stimulus; response to lead ion; acute-phase response; response to methanol; response to hypoxia; response to lipopolysaccharide; inflammatory response; response to organic cyclic substance; response to estradiol stimulus
