specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of rat CD36. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between rat CD36 and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Quantitative Sandwich. Sensitivity: Typically less than 0.078 ng/ml.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for CD36 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any CD36 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for CD36 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CD36 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

uniprot summary :
CD36: Binds to collagen, thrombospondin, anionic phospholipids and oxidized low-density lipoprotein (oxLDL). May function as a cell adhesion molecule. Directly mediates cytoadherence of Plasmodium falciparum parasitized erythrocytes. Binds long chain fatty acids and may function in the transport and/or as a regulator of fatty acid transport (By similarity). Receptor for thombospondins, THBS1 AND THBS2, mediating their antiangiogenic effects (By similarity). As a coreceptor for TLR4-TLR6, promotes inflammation in monocytes/macrophages. Upon ligand binding, such as oxLDL or amyloid-beta 42 binding, rapidly induces the formation of a heterodimer of TLR4 and TLR6, which is internalized and triggers inflammatory signals, leading to the NF-kappa-B-dependent production of CXCL1, CXCL2 and CCL9 cytokines, via MYD88 signaling pathway, and CCL5 cytokine, via TICAM1 signaling pathway, as well as IL1B secretion. Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; extracellular space; cell surface; protein complex; mitochondrion; intracellular membrane-bound organelle; endoplasmic reticulum; integral to membrane; caveola; lipid raft; membrane; apical part of cell; plasma membrane; intracellular; sarcolemma; external side of plasma membrane.
