specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human TXNIP. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human TXNIP and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 15.6 pg/ml-1000 pg/ml. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of human TXNIP is typically less than 3.9 pg/ml.The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for TXNIP has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any TXNIP present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for TXNIP is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of TXNIP bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

uniprot summary :
TXNIP: May act as an oxidative stress mediator by inhibiting thioredoxin activity or by limiting its bioavailability. Interacts with COPS5 and restores COPS5-induced suppression of CDKN1B stability, blocking the COPS5-mediated translocation of CDKN1B from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. Functions as a transcriptional repressor, possibly by acting as a bridge molecule between transcription factors and corepressor complexes, and over- expression will induce G0/G1 cell cycle arrest. Required for the maturation of natural killer cells. Acts as a suppressor of tumor cell growth. Belongs to the arrestin family. Protein type: Tumor suppressor; Mitochondrial; Apoptosis; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q21.1. Cellular Component: cytoplasm; mitochondrial intermembrane space; cytosol; nucleus. Molecular Function: enzyme inhibitor activity; protein binding; ubiquitin protein ligase binding. Biological Process: response to drug; transcription, DNA-dependent; positive regulation of apoptosis; platelet-derived growth factor receptor signaling pathway; negative regulation of cell division; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; cell cycle; response to estradiol stimulus; regulation of cell proliferation; keratinocyte differentiation; response to hydrogen peroxide; response to mechanical stimulus; protein import into nucleus; negative regulation of catalytic activity; response to glucose stimulus; innate immune response; response to progesterone stimulus; response to calcium ion
