products description :
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for MYLIP has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any MYLIP present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for MYLIP is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MYLIP bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Activity depends on E2 enzymes of the UBE2D family. Proteasomal degradation of MRLC leads to inhibit neurite outgrowth in presence of NGF by counteracting the stabilization of MRLC by saposin-like protein (CNPY2/MSAP) and reducing CNPY2-stimulated neurite outgrowth. Acts as a sterol- dependent inhibitor of cellular cholesterol uptake by mediating ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of LDLR. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
