specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of pig FGF19. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between pig FGF19 and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 15.6 pg/ml -1000 pg/ml. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of pig FGF19 is typically less than 3.9 pg/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for FGF19 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any FGF19 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for FGF19 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of FGF19 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes including embryonic development cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. This growth factor is a high affinity, heparin dependent ligand for FGFR4. Expression of this gene was detected only in fetal but not adult brain tissue. Synergistic interaction of the chick homolog and Wnt-8c has been shown to be required for initiation of inner ear development. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
FGF19: Involved in the suppression of bile acid biosynthesis through down-regulation of CYP7A1 expression, following positive regulation of the JNK and ERK1/2 cascades. Stimulates glucose uptake in adipocytes. Activity requires the presence of KLB and FGFR4. Belongs to the heparin-binding growth factors family. Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Cytokine; Cell development/differentiation; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Secreted. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q13.1. Cellular Component: extracellular region. Molecular Function: protein binding; growth factor activity; fibroblast growth factor receptor binding. Biological Process: epidermal growth factor receptor signaling pathway; positive regulation of glucose import; nervous system development; phosphoinositide-mediated signaling; fibroblast growth factor receptor signaling pathway; nerve growth factor receptor signaling pathway; heart development; positive regulation of cell proliferation; insulin receptor signaling pathway; positive regulation of JNK cascade; innate immune response; positive regulation of protein amino acid phosphorylation; neural crest cell migration
