specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of mouse ARG2. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between mouse ARG2 and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 0. 156 ng/ml -10 ng/ml. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of mouse ARG2 is typically less than 0.039 ng/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for ARG2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any ARG2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for ARG2 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of ARG2 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

uniprot summary :
ARG2: May play a role in the regulation of extra-urea cycle arginine metabolism and also in down-regulation of nitric oxide synthesis. Extrahepatic arginase functions to regulate L-arginine bioavailability to NO synthase. Since NO synthase is found in the penile corpus cavernosum smooth muscle, the clitoral corpus cavernosum and the vagina, arginase II plays a role in both male and female sexual arousal. It is therefore a potential target for the treatment of male and female sexual arousal disorders. Belongs to the arginase family. Protein type: Amino Acid Metabolism - arginine and proline; Hydrolase; Mitochondrial; EC 3.5.3.1. Cellular Component: mitochondrion. Molecular Function: hydrolase activity, acting on carbon-nitrogen (but not peptide) bonds, in linear amidines; hydrolase activity; metal ion binding; arginase activity; nitric-oxide synthase binding. Biological Process: striated muscle contraction; negative regulation of nitric-oxide synthase activity; arginine metabolic process; arginine catabolic process to ornithine; negative regulation of striated muscle contraction; urea cycle
