Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with ITIH3. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated antibody preparation specific for ITIH3. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with pre-coated ITIH3 and ITIH3 in samples. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of ITIH3 in the samples. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

The ITI family contains multiple proteins made up of a light chain (see MIM 176870) and a variable number of heavy chains (Salier et al., 1987 [PubMed 2446322]; Himmelfarb et al., 2004 [PubMed 14744536]).[supplied by OMIM, Nov 2009]
