other info1 :
Assay Information: Biological Significance: Sodium glucose co transporters are located in the brush-border membrane, but transported out of the cell across the basolateral membranes by a facilitated sugar transporter. At least three members of SGLTs have been cloned and characterized. SGLTs transport a methyl-D-glucoside, a non-metabolized model substrate, in Na-dependent manner. SGLT-1 does not discriminate a-MDG, glucose, and galactose. SGLT2/3 do not transport D-galactose efficiently.
other info2 :
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide near the N-terminus of mouse SGLT-2

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a member of the sodium glucose cotransporter family which are sodium-dependent glucose transport proteins. The encoded protein is the major cotransporter involved in glucose reabsorption in the kidney. Mutations in this gene are associated with renal glucosuria. Two transcript variants, one protein-coding and one not, have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2015]
uniprot summary :
SLC5A2: Sodium-dependent glucose transporter. Has a Na(+) to glucose coupling ratio of 1:1. Defects in SLC5A2 are the cause of renal glucosuria (GLYS1). GLYS1 is an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by a normal fasting serum glucose concentration and persistent isolated glucosuria, with a normal glucose tolerance test. Belongs to the sodium:solute symporter (SSF) (TC 2.A.21) family. Protein type: Transporter, SLC family; Membrane protein, integral; Transporter; Membrane protein, multi-pass. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16p11.2. Cellular Component: plasma membrane; integral to membrane. Molecular Function: low-affinity glucose:sodium symporter activity. Biological Process: transport; carbohydrate metabolic process; sodium ion transport; glucose transport; transmembrane transport. Disease: Renal Glucosuria
