products description :
Principle of the Assay: MBS Mouse BMP4 ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Mouse BMP4 in Bone Tissue, Cell Culture Supernates, Serum. This assay employs an antibody specific for Mouse BMP4 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and BMP4 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Mouse BMP4 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of BMP4 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm!!Background/Introduction: Bone morphogenetic protein 4 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the BMP4 gene which is located to 14q22-q23. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the bone morphogenetic protein family which is part of the transforming growth factor-beta superfamily. BMP4 is a polypeptide belonging to the TGF-beta superfamily of proteins. It, like other bone morphogenetic proteins, is involved in bone and cartilage development, specifically tooth and limb development and fracture repair. It has been shown to be involved in muscle development, bone mineralization, and uteric bud development. BMP4 has also been implicated in Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva in which it is underexpressed. In human embryonic development, BMP4 is a critical signaling molecule required for the early differentiation of the embryo and establishing of a dorsal-ventral axis. BMP4 is secreted from the dorsal portion of the notochord, and it acts in concert with sonic hedgehog (released from the ventral portion of the notochord) to establish a dorsal-ventral axis for the differentiation of later structures. BMP4 stimulates differentiation of overlying ectodermal tissue. Inhibition of the BMP4 signal (by chordin, noggin, or follistatin) causes the ectoderm to differentiate into the neural plate. The standard product used in this kit is recombinant BMP-4 with the molecular mass of 26KDa.

uniprot summary :
CD36: Seems to have numerous potential physiological functions. Binds to collagen, thrombospondin, anionic phospholipids and oxidized LDL. May function as a cell adhesion molecule. Directly mediates cytoadherence of Plasmodium falciparum parasitized erythrocytes. Binds long chain fatty acids and may function in the transport and/or as a regulator of fatty acid transport. Receptor for thombospondins, THBS1 AND THBS2, mediating their antiangiogenic effects. Defects in CD36 are the cause of platelet glycoprotein IV deficiency (PG4D)[MIM:608404]; also known as CD36 deficiency. Platelet glycoprotein IV deficiency can be divided into 2 subgroups. The type I phenotype is characterized by platelets and monocytes/macrophages exhibiting complete CD36 deficiency. The type II phenotype lacks the surface expression of CD36 in platelets, but expression in monocytes/macrophages is near normal. Genetic variations in CD36 are associated with susceptibility to coronary heart disease type 7 (CHDS7). Belongs to the CD36 family. Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Cell adhesion; Membrane protein, integral. Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; extracellular space; cell surface; protein complex; intracellular membrane-bound organelle; mitochondrion; endoplasmic reticulum; integral to membrane; caveola; lipid raft; membrane; apical part of cell; plasma membrane; intracellular; sarcolemma; external side of plasma membrane. Molecular Function: low-density lipoprotein receptor activity; protein binding; transforming growth factor beta binding; low-density lipoprotein binding; high-density lipoprotein binding; lipid binding. Biological Process: positive regulation of blood coagulation; cGMP-mediated signaling; positive regulation of interleukin-12 production; phagocytosis, recognition; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; pattern recognition receptor signaling pathway; negative regulation of transcription factor import into nucleus; signal transduction; fatty acid metabolic process; low density lipoprotein mediated signaling; sequestering of lipid; cell surface receptor linked signal transduction; positive regulation of MAPKKK cascade; transport; regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter in response to oxidative stress; positive regulation of cell-matrix adhesion; cell adhesion; long-chain fatty acid transport; receptor-mediated endocytosis; positive regulation of I-kappaB kinase/NF-kappaB cascade; cholesterol transport; negative regulation of systemic arterial blood pressure; positive regulation of interleukin-6 production; long-chain fatty acid metabolic process; positive regulation of tumor necrosis factor production; positive regulation of peptidyl-tyrosine phosphorylation; negative regulation of angiogenesis; defense response to Gram-positive bacterium; triacylglycerol metabolic process; response to mechanical stimulus; lipoprotein transport; fatty acid oxidation; positive regulation of phagocytosis, engulfment; plasma membrane long-chain fatty acid transport; nitric oxide mediated signal transduction; apoptotic cell clearance; fatty acid transport; positive regulation of cytokine secretion
