other info1 :
Immunogen: Serine peptidase inhibitor, Kunitz type 1. Calculated MW: 58kDa
products description :
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the Kunitz family of serine protease inhibitors. The protein is a potent inhibitor specific for HGF activator and is thought to be involved in the regulation of the proteolytic activation of HGF in injured tissues. Alternative splicing results in multiple variants encoding different isoforms.

uniprot summary :
SPINT1: Inhibitor of HGF activator. Also acts as an inhibitor of matriptase (ST14). 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted. Cellular Component: extracellular region; extracellular space; plasma membrane. Molecular Function: protease inhibitor activity; serine-type endopeptidase inhibitor activity. Biological Process: embryonic placenta development; extracellular matrix organization and biogenesis; negative regulation of peptidase activity; neural tube closure; positive regulation of glial cell differentiation
