specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of REG-3?. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between REG-3? and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between REG-3? and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
storage stability :
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, Cell Culture Supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate. Assay Type: Competitive. Sensitivity: 0.1 ng/mL.
other info2 :
Intended Uses: This REG-3? ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Bovine REG-3?. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic applications!

products description :
Principle of the assay: REG-3? ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-REG-3? antibody and an REG-3?-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with REG-3?-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the REG-3? concentration since REG-3? from samples and REG-3?-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-REG-3? antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by REG-3? from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind REG-3?-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The REG-3? concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a member of the regenerating islet-derived genes (REG)3 protein family. These proteins are secreted, C-type lectins with a carbohydrate recognition domain and N-terminal signal peptide. The protein encoded by this gene is an antibacterial lectin with activity against Gram-positive bacteria. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms.
