specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of FGF2. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between FGF2 and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between FGF2 and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
storage stability :
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.

products description :
Intended Uses: This FGF2 ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Goat FGF2. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic applications!. Principle of the Assay: FGF2 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing an anti-FGF2 antibody and an FGF2-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with FGF2-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the FGF2 concentration since FGF2 from samples and FGF2-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-FGF2 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by FGF2 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind FGF2-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The FGF2 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities and are involved in a variety of biological processes including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. The function of this growth factor has not yet been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
FGF21: Stimulates glucose uptake in differentiated adipocytes via the induction of glucose transporter SLC2A1/GLUT1 expression (but not SLC2A4/GLUT4 expression). Activity requires the presence of KLB. Belongs to the heparin-binding growth factors family. Protein type: Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.33. Cellular Component: extracellular region. Molecular Function: protein binding; growth factor activity; fibroblast growth factor receptor binding. Biological Process: positive regulation of glucose import; cell-cell signaling; positive regulation of cell proliferation; positive regulation of low-density lipoprotein receptor biosynthetic process; signal transduction
