specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of UL16BP4. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between UL16BP4 and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between UL16BP4 and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
storage stability :
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate. Assay Type: Competitive. Sensitivity: 0.1 ng/mL.

products description :
Intended Uses: This UL16BP4 ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Human UL16BP4. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic applications!. Principle of the Assay UL16BP4 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-UL16BP4 antibody and an UL16BP4-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with UL16BP4-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the UL16BP4 concentration since UL16BP4 from samples and UL16BP4-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-UL16BP4 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by UL16BP4 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind UL16BP4-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The UL16BP4 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

ncbi summary :
This gene belong to the RAET1 family, which consists of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I-related genes located in a cluster on chromosome 6q24.2-q25.3. This and RAET1G protein differ from other RAET1 proteins in that they have type I membrane-spanning sequences at their C termini rather than glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchor sequences. This protein functions as a ligand for NKG2D receptor, which is expressed on the surface of several types of immune cells, and is involved in innate and adaptive immune responses. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
uniprot summary :
RAET1E: Ligand for the NKG2D receptor. Delivers activating signals to NK cells and promotes tumor immune surveillance by inducing the expansion of anti-tumor cytotoxic lymphocytes. Belongs to the MHC class I family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Membrane protein, integral. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6q25.1. Cellular Component: extracellular region; plasma membrane; integral to membrane. Molecular Function: peptide antigen binding; natural killer cell lectin-like receptor binding. Biological Process: regulation of immune response; antigen processing and presentation of peptide antigen via MHC class I; natural killer cell mediated cytotoxicity; T cell mediated cytotoxicity
