Sheep
specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of OC. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between OC and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between OC and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
storage stability :
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, Cell Culture Supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate. Assay Type: Competitive. Sensitivity: 0.1ng/mL.
other info2 :
Intended Uses: This OC ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Rat OC. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic applications!
products categories :

products description :
Principle of the assay: OC ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-OC antibody and an OC-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with OC-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the OC concentration since OC from samples and OC-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-OC antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by OC from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind OC-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The OC concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a highly abundant bone protein secreted by osteoblasts that regulates bone remodeling and energy metabolism. The encoded protein contains a Gla (gamma carboxyglutamate) domain, which functions in binding to calcium and hydroxyapatite, the mineral component of bone. Serum osteocalcin levels may be negatively correlated with metabolic syndrome. Read-through transcription exists between this gene and the neighboring upstream gene, PMF1 (polyamine-modulated factor 1), but the encoded protein only shows sequence identity with the upstream gene product.
