specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of DAG. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between DAG and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowleDAGe, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between DAG and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
storage stability :
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.

products description :
Intended Uses: This DAG ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Human DAG. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic applications!. Principle of the Assay: DAG ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing an anti-DAG antibody and an DAG-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with DAG-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the DAG concentration since DAG from samples and DAG-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-DAG antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by DAG from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind DAG-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The DAG concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a metal-binding membrane glycoprotein that oxidatively deaminates putrescine, histamine, and related compounds. The encoded protein is inhibited by amiloride, a diuretic that acts by closing epithelial sodium ion channels. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2013]
uniprot summary :
ABP1: Catalyzes the degradation of compounds such as putrescine, histamine, spermine, and spermidine, substances involved in allergic and immune responses, cell proliferation, tissue differentiation, tumor formation, and possibly apoptosis. Placental DAO is thought to play a role in the regulation of the female reproductive function. Belongs to the copper/topaquinone oxidase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: EC 1.4.3.22; Amino Acid Metabolism - tryptophan; Secreted; Oxidoreductase; Amino Acid Metabolism - histidine; Secreted, signal peptide; Amino Acid Metabolism - arginine and proline.
